128 COMPANIES BEGIN THE “GREEN CHALLENGE”
The Cleantech Challenge contest received over 1,000 proposals with green business projects, developing the toilet of the future and models of water treatment are some of the proposals.
On Monday third edition of the event Cleantech Challenge began, which seeks to promote job creation and clean technology in companies in Mexico, providing business development training and assist in the funding process for green projects.
“We have noticed increased interest and projects grounded in past editions had an approach that was directed mainly to the production of items with recycled materials and alternative energy generation, we now find proposals ranging from the toilet of the future to development of water treatment, we see a growing interest in projects that address problems and needs, “says Luis Aguirre CEO and president of Cleantech GreenMomentum Challenge Mexico.
The 128 first selected will begin the round of ‘open tournaments’ between companies, the call was launched in April and was in force until May15, the conditions for participation were to have a business idea developed innovative and sustainable commercial use, manufacture or promote the use of clean technology (cleantech).
Use clean technology involves creating a product, service or knowledge to optimize resource use,
maximize efficiency and eliminate waste, achieving a reduction in costs, inputs, resource consumption, waste and pollution.
This year, the Cleantech Challenge received over 1,000 proposals of which 128 were selected, the axes of the nominated companies are creating alternative energy sources, processing resources and the development of waterless urinals and treatment, collection and water purification.
